Société de développement Angus (SDA) has been chosen as real estate project manager for the new Maison d’Haïti. SDA will work closely with Maison d’Haïti management to oversee planning and execution of the $3.2 million project.
Maison d’Haïti has outgrown its current rented premises. But the organization won’t be moving far: the new 820 m2 building will be built right behind the organization’s previous home, on the corner of Emile Journault and 12th Avenue in Montreal. Construction will begin September 1, 2015, and the new Maison Haïti will open its doors in fall 2016. As owner of both the building and the land, Maison Haïti will be well-positioned to serve the community for generations to come.
The new Maison Haïti will feature not only the new work spaces and common areas the organization needs to provide integration services for over 5,000 immigrants and their families every year, but also a 150-person multi-purpose hall for exciting events that bring the community together.
