Maison André-Gratton (The Lighthouse Children and Families)
Institution for children with an incurable disease.
Maison André-Gratton offers respite services and end-of-life care to children with terminal illnesses.
The term “maison” is quite appropriate here, because the facility’s philosophy, design, and services make it more like a home than a traditional hospital. Children stay in a pleasant environment where they get the care they need, and their parents can also stay for a while. The Maison is also the headquarters of The Lighthouse Children and Families, which developed this facility.
Société de développement Angus (SDA) was involved in making this project a reality in a number of ways, from providing advise on organizing the fundraising campaign to acting as a liaison with various ministries, and coordinating plans and blueprints as well as the construction, and layout of the facility itself at the Technopôle Angus.
