Ongoing project

East Montreal

Breathing new life into a heritage church

Acquired as part of the Vieux Pointe-aux-Trembles revitalization project

The acquisition has been finalized, following several meetings that began in early 2021, after being invited by representatives from the Fabrique and the Archdiocese of Montreal. Our goal is to breathe new life into these highly valuable facilities that are located in a heritage area of high interest. The existing buildings will be preserved and given a new purpose, making them more accessible to the community.

A transient occupancy project with a cultural purpose

In order to ensure that the building is preserved while new activities are set to take place on site, we have implemented a transient occupancy project for the church. The project aims to give the building a cultural purpose by hosting creative, circus production activities. The non-profit organization (NPO) La Compagnie des autres will take up residency in the beautiful church and contribute to giving it a new life, as the ideal location for creative, circus production activities.

Future uses to be determined

The future of these facilities will include different uses to meet local needs and contribute to community life, its vibrancy and its daily use by residents and visitors, and will be established in an open, inclusive way, together with the Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles borough and local partners.
