A New Affordable Housing Project in East Montreal

In line with their goal to prioritize revitalizing areas of East Montreal, the Angus Group announced their new affordable housing project in East Montreal during the Sommet de l’Est on April 7.

The housing crisis that has been going on in Quebec for years now has brought to light the desperate need for affordable housing, and the number of initiatives is not high enough to meet the demand. With this in mind, the Angus Group acquired a lot on Notre-Dame East St, at the corner of Broadway, where they plan to build about 180 new affordable housing units in a building that will also have a medical clinic and pharmacy on the ground floor.

The project includes a total of 181 units divided as follows:

  • 1 bdrm: 81
  • 2 bdrm: 80
  • 3 bdrm: 20

The Angus Group has developed affordable quality rental units, bringing back the idea of affordable rental housing. With this project, tenants will have long-term housing security and be able to plan for their futures. It's important to note that these are not temporary housing units where tenants eventually transition to a bigger home; they are designed as affordable quality housing units that allow families to put down roots and create a real home.
