Montreal mayor Denis Coderre prioritizes Technopôle Angus green neighbourhood
Denis Coderre, current mayor of Montreal and head of Équipe Denis Coderre, was at Locoshop Angus on October 24 for a breakfast hosted by Chambre de commerce de l’Est de Montréal (CCE). Mr. Coderre shared his priorities for Montreal’s east end at this event, an opportunity for the local business community to rub shoulders and chat with the incumbent mayor.
Mr. Coderre said he was already “in action mode” on several high-impact projects for Montreal’s east end, and officially promised to prioritize the green neighbourhood development planned as Phase 2 of Technopôle Angus.
“With this commitment, we can secure the funding we need from the governments of Quebec and Canada. From there we hope to break ground in the very near future,” noted Christian Yaccarini, President & CEO of project developer Société de développement Angus.
Mr. Coderre also expressed his support for the CCE’s 5 priorities for Montreal’s east end, which include an eastward Metro extension, improved public transit serving employment hubs, the extension of Avenue Souligny and Boulevard L’Assomption, the implementation of the Logistics Cluster and the Port–Industrial zone, and the refurbishment of Rue Notre-Dame.
The CEE will also host an event with Valérie Plante, leader of the official opposition and Montreal mayoral candidate. This second pre-election meet-and-greet will be held October 30 at MABRASSERIE coop de solidarité brassicole.
